Cold Weather Shipping Policy
Protecting Your Plants During Winter Temperatures
Before you complete your purchase, please be aware of our cold weather shipping policy. To ensure your plants arrive healthy, we monitor the nightly low temperatures in your destination ZIP code.
If the forecasted nighttime low drops below 32°F, we will place your order on a temporary weather hold and ship it as soon as temperatures rise above freezing.
This policy helps prevent cold damage during transit and ensures the highest plant survival rate.
How the Weather Hold Works
- We check the 10-day forecast for your delivery location.
- If any night is expected to be 32°F or below, your order enters a cold-weather hold.
- Your order automatically ships once nighttime temperatures are safely above freezing.
- You will receive an email notification when your order ships.
If you need your order sooner, we can ship at your own risk upon written request. Shipments released early are not eligible for replacement or refund if damaged by cold.
State-by-State Freeze Risk Guide

Why We Use a Freeze Policy
Shipping plants in freezing temperatures can cause:
- Leaf and stem burn
- Root damage
- Cold shock
- Plant death during transit
Most carriers do not climate-control packages, especially overnight or in delivery trucks. We use this policy to ensure your plants arrive healthy and ready to thrive.
